Brenda awoke suddenly and found herself in the dark and on her own bed.

“Alex?” she called out tentatively, trying to ignore her growing panic in her confusion.

“Sh…I’m right here, sweetheart,” he said as he emerged from her bathroom. “Guess we’ll find out Tinker Bell’s wing secret another time. I cleaned us both up and thought you’d be more comfortable here.”

Brenda considered his words.

“How embarrassing,” she said as she thought about how exposed she must’ve been to him as he ‘cleaned up’ her feminine parts.

“Nothing to be embarrassed about,” he said, climbing into the bed next to her and spooning her. “It was mostly me all over you. Anyway, I hope your alarm is set because I am no good at waking up early on vacation days. Wake me up when you get up so I can leave when you do.”

“You can stay,” she heard herself say. “I don’t mind if you’re here when I get back.” She pulled his arms closer. “I’ll give you a key so you can come and go if you want,” she added through a yawn.

She was soon right back asleep.
